NEW YORK: Danish ninth seed Caroline Wozniacki advanced to the US Open women's singles final on Saturday by defeating Belgium's Yanina Wickmayer 6-3, 6-3 in 96 minutes.
By winning the match-up of 19-year-olds who had never before reached the final eight in a Grand Slam event, Wozniacki put herself into Sunday's championship match against Belgium's Kim Clijsters, who defeated American Serena Williams 6-4, 7-5
