BEIJING: China on Monday called on Iran to agree to a "consensus" on a UN proposal on nuclear fuel supplies for its research reactor, after Tehran said it had until January 31 to agree on the uranium swap deal.
"We have noted the reports" on the deadline, foreign ministry spokeswoman Jiang Yu said in a statement. "The Chinese side supports a consensus by all concerned parties at an early date on the draft agreement put forward" by the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN nuclear watchdog, Jiang said.
